Who we are

The Destiny Wimpye Foundation was established to ensure that underprivileged youth have the opportunity to pursue their passion for dance, breaking down both financial and social barriers within ballet education. Founded by Destiny Wimpye, a professional dancer with Pacific Northwest Ballet, the foundation was created from a deep belief that talent and dedication—not financial circumstance—should determine a child’s access to the arts. Through free ballet classes, community programs, and essential dance supplies, we provide young dancers with opportunities that might otherwise be out of reach.

Our programs focus on more than just technique. We aim to nurture confidence, discipline, creativity, and self-expression in every student we encounter. Students arrive with a wide range of experience, and through consistent, high-quality instruction in a supportive environment, they gain not only ballet training but a sense of belonging and belief in their own potential.

With the support of community partners such as Family First Community Center, the foundation continues to expand its reach across South King County. Over the past two years alone, we have provided 39 students ages 4–12 with 89 hours of free ballet instruction. Every child in our programs participates at no cost, ensuring that financial barriers never prevent a student from showing up, learning, and growing.

Join us in creating opportunities for the next generation of artists. Your support allows us to continue providing free classes, essential supplies, and safe, inspiring spaces for young dancers to thrive.
